Oceans

The oceans hold the most amount of water on Earth. The Oceans have salt water. They cover 70% of the world and contain 97% of all the water. The oceans are so big that they affect the way we live greatly. This includes our weather which means whether it will be hot and dry or cold and stormy. There are five different oceans they all connect and cover 70% of the planet.

The Pacific Ocean (Between The West of The Americas, The East of Asia and Australia) The Pacific Ocean has 32 seas. It is 36,000 feet deep. That is 4500 times taller than the world’s tallest man Robert Waldow.

The Indian Ocean (Surrounds The South of Asia) The Indian Ocean has 8 seas. It is 25,000 feet deep. That is 1250 times taller than a fully grown Giraffe

The Atlantic Ocean (Between Europe, Africa and The East side of The Americas) The Atlantic Ocean has 34 seas. It is 28,000 feet deep. That is 80 times taller than the world’s tallest tree The Californian Redwood.

The Arctic Ocean (Surrounds The Arctic)
The Arctic Ocean has 13 seas. It is 17,880 feet deep. That is 18 times taller than the tallest bridge in the world in France.

The Southern Ocean (Surrounds the Antarctic) The Southern Ocean has 9 seas. It is 23,376 feet deep. That is 74 times taller than the Big Ben clock tower in London.

Seas

If the Ocean was a tree the Seas would be it’s branches. Unlike the Oceans the seas have some land surrounding them. The seas have salt water. Different Seas include

The Red Sea (They call it the Red Sea because the algae that lives there makes it look red. The Red Sea is in The Indian Ocean

The Caribbean (Surrounding The Caribbean). The Caribbean Sea is in the Atlantic Ocean

The Black Sea  They call it the Black Sea because the amount of Hydrogen makes it appear Black. The Black Sea is in The Atlantic Ocean

The Mediterranean  The Mediterranean is in The Atlantic Ocean

The South China Sea   The South China Sea is in the Pacific Ocean

The Caspian Sea  surrounds Asia and Russia. Even though it is called a Sea it is the biggest lake on Earth.
