Recycled Plant Pots -
Recyclable Gardening with Recycle Michael
When you want to grow a lot of plants, plant pots can be very expensive. Anything can be a container but only a very few plants roots like sunlight so darker pots are better for the job. So why not recycle old stuff from around the house into plant pots.
How about
:-
Old tool boxes.
Shopping crates.
Old boots.
Butter pots.
Old drawers.
Old toilet.
Old wheel barrow.
Old sink
Have a look around when your parents are getting rid of stuff or moving house, I am sure you will find something to grow some plants in. Just make sure to clean them first. Remember that if you use metal plant pots you will have to put a good few layers of newspaper on the insides. This is because a metal pot will get very hot in the sun and this can damage plant roots.
Recycled Plant Containers need drainage holes to work properly. This allows the plant to release the water it does not need. Try putting some stones at the bottom, stones absorb water and store it for when the land is dry.
Be sure to ask for an adults help if you want to make a hole for a container.
Just add soil, your favourite plants, water and some attention for our green friends.
Be creative there are endless possibilities, why not paint the pots as well.
