Lakes Around The World
A Lake is a large pool of fresh water. Lakes are surrounded by land on each side. There are many types of lake, there are even man-made lakes that are called reservoirs. Reservoirs are built as an extra source of fresh water for towns and cities.
Here are the biggest lakes from each continent:

Europe
Lake Onega and Lake Ladoga these are both in Russia.
Africa
Lake Victoria- the second biggest fresh water lake on Earth.
North America
Lake Superior is the biggest fresh water Lake on Earth.
South America
Lake Titicaca is so big it has over forty islands on it which people live on.
Antarctica
Lake Vostok. Lake Vostok is in the arctic so it is part ice. It was only discovered in 1996 so it is very new to man.
Asia
The Caspian Sea. Wait a minute isn’t it a Sea. Although it is called The Caspian Sea it is actually a Lake and the biggest salt water Lake on Earth.
Australasia
Lake Eyre is located in the deserts in the middle of Australia.
